The joys of owning a pooch: we do a pit stop about 100 km West of Saskatoon. Sparkle does her thing, and the girls go exploring
-
Another short pit stop about fifty clicks from the destination: we always pass this bridge on our way, and I always wanna stop..
-
The girls take a closer look.
-
Yet another shot of the Borden Bridge.
-
Next day: Sparkle enjoys the morning sun -- and Bruce and Chatelle's backyard. (She doesn't have one of her own yet!)
-
Another happy puppy shot.
-
Yet another happy puppy shot.
-
One last happy puppy shot.
-
We all go for a noon-time walk near the river. Sparkle gets some off-leash time.
-
Bruce TRIES to race the dog.
-
Chatelle takes a shot at outrunning the pooch. Tough luck.
-
Sparkle enjoys the warm Saskatoon weather.
-
Bruce takes one more stab at a whippet-on-human race. One guess who won that one.
-
I thought this tree looked nice.
-
I thought this was a nice tree, too.
-
We find out shortly that the river is still a bit of a treacherous mess.
-
We all go walking back to the car. I get left behind as i stop to take pictures of the scenery. Good thing I had the keys!
-
Quirky signage.
-
A half an hour later we pay a visit to Bruce's cousin's house. A newfoundlander lives here. Sparkle is not quite amused.
-
She's a bit of a messy drinker.
-
Even after some cooperative playtime, Sparkle is still not too sure...
-
One BIG puppy.
-
Sparkle quickly gets over her fear when food is involved.
-
Later that night, we work on Easter Dinner. Unconventional, yes. I'm frying up some tempura battered shrimp.
-
What a messy process!
-
Chatelle enjoys some custom drinks by Bruce. Judging by the blurry photo, Karin (the photographer) seems to have had some too.
-
I start rolling sushi.
-
Sparkle supervises the whole kitchen procedure from the comfort of her bed. She wasn't too keen on being any more involved.
-
Bruce tries his hands at sushi preparation, and Karin struggles with the pickled ginger. (I put down the camera shortly after)
-
Not content with the Japanese-Italian Fusion Easter Dinner, Chatelle fried up some homemade Indian Pakora to complement sushi.
-
Karin works on her roll-slicing skills and spices up the dinner with some fancy presentation.
-
Chatelle even gets her hands wet and makes a roll, too.
-
Quite the Easter spread...!
